As we have friends over this weekend for a BBQ I have been busy in the garden tidying and generally making the place presentable! My Folksy Friday items would have all been a great help in the preparation and would have made the garden look a treat had I got organised and bought them earlier ..... maybe for the next one!
The items below are handmade in the UK and available from www.folksy.com the online marketplace to buy the best handmade and handcrafted items! (Click the images for more details).

Here is my first ever Folksy Friday contribution! I had such a hard time choosing between everything I saw that I have included a few more than I had originally intended!
In anticipation of the farmer bringing his cows down to the field behind our house for the summer I have selected items with a bovine theme! I had a fantastic Saturday on a 'throwing for beginners' pottery workshop run by art space workshops in Nottingham http://www.artspaceworkshops.com/ After a very shaky start and lots of clay (it's a good job it's recycled!) I ended up with 6 blobby shapes - 2 of which, at a push, could be refered to as bowls!! It is sooo much harder than it looks - but fantastic fun! The tutor Rachel was great and fortunately, very patient! http://www.racheldormorceramics.com/
I have been occupied for the last couple of days designing a poster for our local village summer fundraiser for Help for Heroes! An enjoyable task but daunting as the design had to be sent off to the charity for approval! Fortunately they were happy with the design and printing can now commence! I am only playing a very small part in the overall organisation of the event but will have my first Spotty N Stripy card stall at the fair! The next few weeks will see me rather busy building up some stock!
Welcome to my blog on the creative happenings (and non creative!) at Spotty N Stripy. Spotty N stripy arose from a love of all things spotted and striped combined with lots of experience and passion for graphic design, and what some might call ‘an obsession’ with greetings cards! I am a 30 year old mother to a toddler - who takes up ALL my time, who knows where I will find time to update this blog! Have a good nosey around!
